Introduction:
Sodium silicate process description
We are experienced and have developed latest technology and machinery for sodium silicate production. There are two processes for sodium silicate production.
The first one is liquid phase; the second one is solid phase.
Usage:
Sodium silicate is widely used in construction materials, textile ,daily chemical and other industries.
Process reaction in liquid phase:
Caustic soda, quartz sand and water are mixed in mixing tank, then the mixture is fed into a reactor, where steam is introduced.
The reactant is liquid sodium silicate with its module lower than 3.
The reaction equation:
nSiO2+2NaOH → Na2O·nSiO2+H2O
Application filed: to be widely used in detergent powder, laundry soap, paper making de-ink.
Produce liquid sodium silicate , Standard product with the ratio 1.8-2.6, solution concentration 40°Bé, more higher concentration should be customized.
Process Features:
1. Energy saving, low processing machinery, civil construction investment and low production cost.
2. Finished product to be liquid form, can be directly used, no need dissolving machinery and dissolving processing work.
Process reaction in solid phase (thermal process)
The feed materials in this process are sodium carbonate and quartz sand, or sodium sulfate and quartz sand. The feed materials are heated in a reflection furnace.
The reaction equation:
Na2CO3 +XSiO2 → (Na2O)•(SiO2)X + CO2
4Na2SO4 +2C +4SiO2 → 4Na2SiO3 +4SO2 +2CO2
The sodium silicate produced by this thermal process has the modules depending on requirements of different applications.
Application filed: to be widely used in glue making, melting mould casting, mine selection, fast dry cement etc field.
Produce solid sodium silicate , with the ratio 1.9-3.5, with block form.
Process Features:
1. Finished product to be solid, convenient for transportation, and low transportation cost.
2. Finished product used in widely range, mole ratio can be regulated during dissolving work, almost applicable for all the industrial work.
